Available as a downloadable PDF, this guide walks you through each operation type available on a Cricut machine. You will learn line types and new features for Cricut Explore Air, Cricut Joy, and Cricut Maker

A Helpful Guide to Cricut Design Space Operation Types

A lot of confusion regarding the operation feature stems from a change to the main menu. The Operation dropdown menu used to be called "Line-Type," but the new feature functions similarly: it allows you to choose the cut edge you want. Ten different options include basic cut, wavy edge, perforate, pen, foil, score, deboss, engrave, print then cut, and guide. I also have a separate section on using the "Guide" feature, an important tool for Cricut projects.

If you are new to Cricut and Design Space, check out my other guides, including an overview of Cricut cutting machines, what to do with ripping cardstock, how to use combine tools, a cutting chart, or my Design Space map key and terms.
